Beginning in the early 2010's as riding a bike became more of a common form of transportation, the popularity of cycling as a sport grew and evolved. By 2017, organized racing series styled like automotive racing had taken the nation by storm. Names such as "ACA Premiere" and "WisCom Racing" grew into world-class teams. Bicycle companies such as Cervelo and Haro created stunning pieces of engineering that propelled racers into fame like that of Aaron Rogers and David Beckham.
In the Milwaukee-area, sprint races such as "East Side Stampede" and grand-prix inspired races like the "Greenfield GP" and "Riverwest24" became must-see events that drew in huge crowds.
This bike was one meant for these races. Built for speed, these bikes would cost well over $35,000 and were tuned and maintained with the precision of a F1 race car. But as society collapsed, races in DC, London, Amsterdam, and Minneapolis were cancelled and eventually the FIC cancelled the entire 2051 world championship.
Now, these bikes lay motionless and are a symbol of an era long gone. Those that recognize them are few and far as the bikes themselves are even rarer.
